We’re proud to see our team represented at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research | Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada – Institute of Aging (CIHR-IA) Summer Program in Aging 2025 at the Baycrest Academy of Research and Education in Toronto this week.
Our founder and director, Dr. Lillian Hung, Canada Research Chair in Senior Care, spoke alongside family and patient partners Bubli Chakraborty and Lynn Jackson, on how we can advance equity through co-research with people living with dementia.
Lived experience matters—thank you to CIHR-IA for the platform to highlight our work, and all who made this week of learning and connection possible.
As we make our way back after the event week, we’re reflecting on what it takes to train a healthcare workforce equipped to meet the needs of older adults.
Joey Wong, Dr. Lillian Hung, and Sadaf Murad-Kassam joined trainees and mentors from across Canada to explore aging through the lens of agency, cultural humility, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
We also toured 7 different areas of Baycrest—including an art therapy studio for older adult patients and residents. A powerful reminder that care in aging is both clinical and deeply human.
