Rynnie Son

I am currently a Master of Education student specializing in Literacy Education at UBC. I hold a BA in Education with TESOL from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Growing up in Malaysia made me the multilingual person I am today (I speak Mandarin, English, Malay and some Chinese dialects), which sparked my curiosity about the linguistic and literacy aspects of the human condition. I am also a self-taught film photographer who loves capturing moments of genuine human connections. As a volunteer with the IDEA lab, I hope to delve into the literacy practices of people living with dementia and tell their stories through photography.
