Soyi So Wing Yu
Soyi, So Wing Yu is an Art therapist-to-be, studying at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute with distance learning and working as a Course Development Manager at The Youth NGO in Hong Kong. She received her Master of Arts degree in Fine Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017 and her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Studies from Lingnan University in 2014.
Soyi is a slasher, who is a mixed media artist, art administrator, freelancer etc. She worked as an art developer and art facilitator at the elderly setting for more than seven years. “Arts-in-Home” is the direction which she is striving towards with the welfare teammates. She brought out the concept of “Artitude.” She believes that seniors have the right and ability to explore the art world through different platforms with enjoyment and enrichment.
Soyi has been invited to be the guest speaker at the symposium “Person-Centred Care for Older Adults with Dementia in BC and Hong Kong” at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada in May 2019. She shared her innovative ideas for using art at the residential home for dementia elders.
