The LOVOT team recently embarked on a heartwarming journey that brought joy, connection, and innovation to our local communities. Our beloved social robots, Kiwi and Mango, made delightful visits to various community spaces, leaving an enchanting impact on everyone they met.
From the cozy atmosphere of Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House to the vibrant halls of Nikkei Home, the UBC IDEA Lab team introduced the lovable LOVOT robots through engaging presentations. Attendees had the unique opportunity to freely interact with Kiwi and Mango – waving hello, petting, holding them close, and capturing countless memorable pictures.
During these events, the team began their presentation with an introduction to the robots, followed by a captivating Q&A session that showcased the attendees’ genuine interest and curiosity about LOVOTs. Witnessing the eager engagement of the participants with the robots was an absolute delight for our team. The highlight of these events was when the team gathered the lovely seniors in a circle to interact with Mango, fostering a sense of connection and engagement that warmed hearts all around.
Collaborating with the participants, our team led a creative clothes-making workshop for Kiwi and Mango. The result? A burst of vibrant aprons, frocks, and hats not only added style to our Lovots but also symbolized the creativity and unity of the community.
The LOVOTs Engagement Events are a testament to the power of innovation, community engagement, and the heartwarming connections that can be fostered through technology. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and heart-touching moments from our journey of exploration and creativity! 🤗 #UBCIDEALab #CommunityEngagement #LOVOTs #Innovation
