Javier Cabrera Guerra
Hello, I am from Colombia, currently pursuing a Master of Health Leadership and Policy in Seniors Care at the University of British Columbia. I’m a physician with specializations in geriatrics and hospital management.
Some of my previous leadership experiences in the gerontology and geriatrics field include: organizing national and international congresses on healthy aging and playing key roles in developing senior policies and consulting for government entities. I have conducted publishable research in polypharmacy, cognitive decline and dementia prevention, osteoporosis, vaccines for seniors and comprehensive geriatric evaluation. As a founder of healthcare services for seniors, I understand organizational and quality improvement needs. As a founder of a geriatrics postgraduate program, my wish is to contribute to the health workforce’s education.
My work in IDEA Lab focuses on virtual comprehensive services for seniors; I want to continue improving the lives of the elderly and advancing the field of geriatrics and leadership.
