My name is Huini. I completed my Bachelor of Human Nutrition in Montreal and moved to Vancouver in 2014. Compared to the frequent blizzards on the East Coast, I am content with the rain here. For the past eight years, I have worked in management in food services and support services in acute and long-term care settings. My last job at a 300-bed long-term care home during Covid made me realize the potential to improve seniors’ quality of life.

Seniors have dedicated their lives to society and their loved ones for decades, and they deserve our recognition and commitment to care for them. With the pressing increase in our aging population, we feel the urge to address ageism, social devaluation, isolation, neglect, cultural barriers and autonomy limitations to provide quality care. Therefore a ‘revolution’ in senior care is required, and I want to be part of it.
