Fourth International Workshop on Socio-Gerontechnology

Fourth International Workshop on Socio-Gerontechnology

On September 8th and 9th, Dr. Lillian Hung and Lily Ren attended the fourth international workshop on socio-gerontechnology, which focused on ageing and the use of technology during Covid-19. Our team discussed the benefits of implementing technology into LTC settings, using findings from our Telerobot Study.

To recap, there are many benefits to using telerobots in long-term care including;

  • Enabling virtual connections
  • Creating a sense of presence
  • Creating a safe environment for people living with dementia to participate in research
  • Enabling active involvement in research despite visiting restrictions during the pandemic

On the second day of the workshop, the focus was on highlighting our values and accomplishments as a lab. Our team had so much fun visiting the University of Bristol and appreciate the opportunity to share what we’re working on!
