Dr. Hung, Canada Research Chair
We are excited to congratulate that Dr. Lilian Hung the founder of UBC IDEA Lab had been announced as Tier II Canada Research Chair in Senior Care on January 12, 2022
The Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Senior Care aims to improve the care of older adults and revitalize the workforce in Long-Term Care (LTC) homes and hospitals by;
- Developing a digital solution, ‘WhatMatters’ to equip staff with adaptable tools to deliver person-centred care in LTC homes and hospitals
- Engaging users to identify barriers and strategies for adoption of the digital tool
- Evaluating outcomes for patient/resident (i.e., quality of life), staff (job satisfaction) and care system (person-centered care)
- This research program will accelerate technology-enabled solutions to respond to the pressing demand for a person-centered revolution in senior care.
“My CRC program responds to urgent need for improving and innovating senior care. By leveraging the collective expertise of patient and family partners, clinical staff, and industry partners, my research lab (IDEA lab – Innovation in DEmentia and Aging) finds practical ways to adopt and adapt technology (e.g., robotics and virtual realities) to improve quality of care.”
