Winnie Kan
Winnie is currently a nursing student at UBC. As a member of the UBC IDEA lab, she is grateful to be involved in the Virtual Reality Project. She hopes to collaboratively work with Dr. Lillian Hung and the multidisciplinary team to explore ways to support and empower individuals living with dementia and their families in mitigating the challenges that they may encounter. With some experience as a long-term care home recreational assistant, she is looking forward to discovering how we can implement innovative technology and research to optimize the quality of life of the geriatric population.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, cooking and drawing/crafting. Winnie aspires to continue learning how to become a good nurse and to improve her practice in delivering compassionate and competent people-centred care.
